Accolades

â—¾Submerged on 27th September, the birth date of iconic Scottish novelist Irvine Welsh, whose landmark book Trainspotting is, well, you know the story.

Provenance

One of two compact casks submerged in the inimitable Loch Ness on 27th September 2025.

Cask DLNAMF0 was made from European Oak, with a light toast and complimented with 12 months of blended Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry seasoning in central Europe's more temperate climate.

Blending sherries creates a luscious balance between PX's intensely sweet, syrupy, and rich, dried fruit flavours and Oloroso's drier, nuttier characters.

The selected first fill for cask DLNMF0 was a 15 year old natural strength, unpeated, single malt barley spirit; crafted not far from Dallas (not that one...but the slightly smaller one just South West of Elgin in Scotland).

With cask and spirit united, next stop was Scotland's Great Glen. An ancient geological fault line, visible from space, which slices through the Highlands from the Atlantic at Fort William up to the North Sea at Inverness. The Great Glen is home to rugged mountains, historic towns and a chain of Lochs, one of which is the 23 mile (37km) long Loch Ness.

On the day of its evolution, 27th September 2025, the weather was slightly warmer than previous winter submersions. 12 degrees Celsius (54 Fahrenheit) with a challenging, but not show-stopping, 20kph wind speed.

Submersion at 57°20′50.11″N, 4°23′54.54″W took cask DLNMF0 to a depth of 214 meters (702 feet), matching the depth of our infamous inaugural casks.

The result, a release of 6 bottles (70cl) at 63.4%vol, presented naturally and non-chill filtered. Bottles 1 to 3 are stored safely in a vault. From late 2025, bottles 4, 5 and 6 will be presented for sale by auction.
